Welcoming Summer!
We have a tradition in the Primary class that helps us mark the transition into summer. I read my favorite book about summer to the students and then we make a list of our dreams and wishes for the summer.
Here are a few dreams and wishes from this year’s list:
- See a fairy.
- Build a rocket ship.
- Find the perfect place for a secret hideout.
- Get a bunny.
- Go to the beach.
Then, we make bubble soap and fashion bubble wands out of pipe cleaners. We head outside and send our wishes out into the world in our bubbles. At the beginning, the students are quite serious about the ritual, focusing on their wish as they carefully blow. By the end, we’re just having fun blowing bubbles, and many wishes are sent out into the universe.
What is your wish for the summer?
